Consumption Economics

Now ten years old, this book was published as an attempt to explain the "new rules" of selling technology, based upon the brave new world of cloud-based SaaS offerings that for the first time enabled a far more agile and risk averse way for companies to consume technology - in short by renting it instead of buying it. This "easy in / easy out" approach to technology enables companies to try out new technology that would otherwise have been too great a risk, and this in turn has led to a real renaissance in corporate growth and in the role of technology in supporting that growth. Consumption Economics is a great starting point for getting to grips with this "new world" and understanding how to get on an do well within it. EVERYONE who is involved in SaaS in any role whatsoever (including sweeping the floor or making the sandwiches) should read this book!
